Mary is an advocate for students!
Mary is a staunch supporter of the schools in her Trustee Area. In fact, the district has made many improvements to the Trustee Area 3 schools due to her constant presence at the sites and her belief that speaking with educators and classified staff gives her a deep understanding of what is REALLY happening on a campus.

Mary is also an asset to the board and her Trustee Community because she is bilingual and can personally reach out to the many families and parents in Trustee Area 3 that speak Spanish.
​
Mary advocates at the city, state, and national level for our Corona-Norco Schools. As the saying goes, "Everyone knows Mary!" She is a bridge builder. Our students, families and educators are lucky to have her in their corner.

Dr. Jose Lalas
Trustee Area 1
Dr. Lalas holds the district accountable!
Did you know that Dr. Lalas is actually a professor at the Redlands University School of Education? When it comes to teaching and learning, Dr. Lalas has literally written the book on it! He is an expert in the field and is able to ask the district difficult questions and demand evidence based policies.

Dr. Lalas also understands that in order to truly know what is happening on a school site, you must reach out and listen to the educators and classified staff that are actually working with our students.
​
There is a reason Dr. Lalas has been the longest serving member of the board: Experience, passion and a deep understanding of how students learn has made him a trusted voice.
